I Surrender Some

Sang “I Surrender All” this morning in chapel. That songs reminds me of the account of the widow’s offering in Mark 12:41-44. Jesus told his disciples that the widow put in more than all the other contributors because she gave “all she had to live on.”

While this passage is talking about money, I think we can apply this thought in other areas of our life. How much are we giving to God? What takes up our time and energy? What thoughts occupy our mind? God gave us His Son (John 3:16). He gave everything for us and we owe it to Him to give Him our all back. Give Him your time and your effort. Let Him use all of you, not just some. Remember the words of the song: “all to Thee my blessed Savior, I surrender all.”
